Timothy Sterner

Elder

Tim Sterner has been a member of Covenant Reformed Church since 2021 and was ordained to serve as an elder in February of 2025. After growing up as a farm kid in Ohio, he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1994 where he served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.  While stationed in Minot, North Dakota, God brought Tim and Anna together starting this family in 1997.  Over then next 21 years the Sterners were assigned in Germany, Spokane WA, Hawaii and Alaska where they had the opportunity to attend PCA, CREC and OPC churches.  Along the way, God blessed them with 4 children, Cole, Sydney, Mack and Nora.  Shortly after being assigned to the Fairbanks AK area in 2012, the Sterners helped start a reformed bible study that eventually grew into what is now Covenant Reformed Church.  After a final assignment in Hawaii, the Sterner family returned to the Fairbanks area and joined Covenant Reformed Church shortly thereafter. Since coming to the reformed faith in 2000, Tim has been heavily influenced by the ministry and teachings of R.C. Sproul and the works of J.C. Ryle.

Andrew Kirsch

Elder

Andy and his wife Megan have 5 kids and live in Fairbanks since moving from Boise, ID in 2018.  Andy works full time as a wildland fire geospatial analyst.  When not mapping stuff, timber-framing, milling beams, or enjoying God’s creation outside with the family, you might find him working his way through a bit of theology with a pipe in his teeth and a pencil in hand.  Although without formal theological training, he has been profoundly shaped by the writings of many covenantal theologians in the our rich reformed heritage.  He was ordained and installed as an Elder at CRC in February of 2025.  And yes, he an Tim are identical cousins.
